Kilifi is a stretch of the central part of the Kenya Coast approximately 60 km south of Malindi and 55 km north of Mombasa. It is centred around a small town and creek of the same name and is a popular base for sailing.

Historically Kilifi’s economy has been dominated by an enormous cashew nut processing factory, but an expanding expat population has invigorated the place commercially and created a surprisingly cosmopolitan feel. Compared with the much more heavily developed areas around Malindi and Mombasa on either side, Kilifi remains a relatively low key location.
Vipingo was a much needed project for the coastal region and offers an expansion space in the north coast which has been slowly been overshadowed by Lamu and Diani. Dozens of million dollar homes and rentals dot Vipingo making it a favourite of both foreign and local tourists.
